Goldsboro Man Charged With Attempted Murder

A Goldsboro man is in the Wayne County Jail charged with Attempted Murder after a shooting that left one person injured.

Nigell Hocutt, 29, of North Virginia Street is accused of shooting Kelly Fuller in the 700 block of North Virginia Street in mid-May. According to police, Fuller recovered from the gunshot wound.

Earlier this week, Goldsboro Police with the help of the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office arrested Hocutt in the 100 block of East Railroad Street in LaGrange.

He was brought back to Wayne County and placed in the Wayne County Jail. No bond was issued.

Former GTA Head Charged With Embezzlement

The former head of the Goldsboro Tennis Association is now facing an embezzlement charge after being accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the non-profit organization.

Goldsboro Police say their investigation revealed that Michael Boothman embezzled $10,775 from the GTA in June.

Authorities note Boothman moved out-of-state prior to being developed as a person of interest. Investigators point out Boothman was contacted and had a meeting scheduled with police but failed to show up.

In late June, warrants were secured against Boothman. Several attempts were made to serve Boothman in Florida.

Boothman recently turned himself into the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken to jail where secured bond was set at $1,500.

Man Arrested For Passing Counterfeit $100 Bills

A man accused of passing counterfeit $100 bills at a number of stores in the area of Five Points Shopping Center in Goldsboro is now in custody of Wayne County authorities.

Reginal James Cobb II, of Lakehurst Drive, Dudley, was arrested Wednesday and charged with four counts each of Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense, Felony Possession of a Counterfeit Instrument and Felony Uttering a Forged Instrument.

Authorities say on one occasion in December $400 in fake bills were used at Family Dollar to buy a pre-paid money card. Two days later a Family Dollar store employee reported $200 worth of merchandise was paid for with fake $100 bills.

In mid-December the manager of the Food Lion store reported a counterfeit $100 bill. The next day a fake $100 bill was used to pay for merchandise at the Dollar General Store at 100 Genoa Crossing, Goldsboro.

Authorities reviewed surveillance footage at the stores and identified Cobb as the suspect.

He was jailed at the Wayne County Detention Center where secured bond was set at $10,000.

Goldsboro Man Caught With $53K Worth Of Heroin

A Goldsboro man is in the Wayne County Jail facing a multi-million dollar bond after being caught with heroin valued at nearly $53,000.

Adrian Devonta Warren, 23, of Woodrow Street is charged with two counts of Felony Level III Trafficking; one count of felony Maintaining a Dwelling, Vehicle or Place for Use, Storage or Sale of a Controlled Substance; and speeding.

Over the course of the last three months detectives with the Wayne County Drug Unit have been investigating Warren in connection with the sale of heroin locally. Earlier this week drug agents stopped Warren for speeding. During the traffic stop they found three ounces of heroin which they say equates to just over 2,600 individual bags.

Warren was taken to the Wayne County Jail where bond was set at $2,000,000.

Wayne Man Charged With Statutory Rape

A Wayne man accused of statutory rape is now in custody of local authorities.

Mauricio Alfredo Castillio Garcia, 37, is charged with Statutory Sex Offense. Authorities say the case involves a 15-year-old female. Investigators were told it was an ongoing occurrence for the past two years and the victim was known by the suspect.

A warrant was secured against Garcia and he was later arrested at his house without incident

Garcia was taken to the Wayne County Jail where secured bond was set at $300,000.

GPD: Son Kills His Mother

There is an arrest in a Goldsboro murder case where a son is accused of killing his mother Friday morning.

Shontionne Domian Darden, 31 of Wilmington Avenue is charged with Second-Degree Murder, and felony Possession of a Firearm by Felon. Goldsboro Police say Darden told them he thought he heard an intruder coming in the house and he fired a bullet into the hallway which struck his mother. Sonya Yvonne Darden, 49, died from the gunshot wound.

The two lived together in the house in the 300 block of Wilmington Avenue.

Darden was taken to the Wayne County Jail where secured bond was set at $200,000. His first court appearance is scheduled for Monday at 1:30 p.m.

Two Goldsboro Residents Jailed After Search Yields Drugs

Two Goldsboro residents are in custody of local police who found illegal drugs and other related contraband during a traffic stop.

Glen Anthony Coles, 30, of Stoney Manor Drive is charged with Level 2 Trafficking of Opium, Simple Possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and a motor-vehicle violation.

K’tia Rose Hudson, 22, of Peachtree Street is charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Simple Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance.

Authorities say during their patrol in the area of North William Street and Stronach Avenue they pulled over a gold Mercedes driven by Coles. They found a handgun, marijuana, a trafficking amount of Opiates and drug paraphernalia during a search of the vehicle. Hudson was a passenger in the vehicle.

Coles and Hudson were arrested and taken to the Wayne County Jail. Secured bond for Coles was set at $500,000. Bond for Hudson was set at $2,500.

Goldsboro Woman Charged In Residential Burglary

A Goldsboro woman is in custody of local authorities after being arrested in connection with a northern Wayne County residential burglary.

Casey Jean Best, 25, of Charles Street is charged with a number of felonies including Breaking and Entering, Larceny and Possession of Stolen Goods. Best also faces a charge of Obtaining Property by False Pretense.

Best was taken to the Wayne County Jail where secured bond was set at $2,500.

Authorities say some of the stolen property was recovered at local pawn shops. Investigators also expect there will be more arrests in the case.

Accused Ecstasy Dealer Jailed On Numerous Illegal-Drug Charges

An accused Ecstasy dealer is now in custody of Goldsboro Police after officers found numerous illegal drugs in his possession.

Marlowe Holmes, 41, of Olivia Lane, is charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver MDMA(Ecstasy), Possession of Methamphetamine, Heroin, Cocaine and Marijuana.

He was arrested and taken to the Wayne County Detention Center.

Woman Arrested On Theft Charges

A law enforcement investigation of a northern Wayne County residential burglary has yielded the arrest of a Goldsboro woman.

Kaitylyn Dee Howell, 21, of Charles Street is charged with felony Breaking and Entering, felony Possession of Stolen Goods and Obtaining Property by False Pretense.

Howell was taken to the Wayne County Detention Center where secured bond was set at $10,000.

Wayne County Sheriff’s Office detectives today are crediting Wayne Memorial Hospital Police for their assistance.

Wanted Fugitive Charged In Goldsboro Family Dollar Robbery

Police now have a suspect in custody charged in the armed robbery of a Goldsboro Family Dollar Store.

Quentin Bryce Barnes, 31 of North George Street, Goldsboro is charged with felony Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon in connection with that heist. He also faces the same charge issued against him by the Greenville Police Department and he is charged with one count of felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense that originates out of Wake County.

Officers say the Goldsboro Family Dollar Store holdup happened in December when the black male subject walked into the store at 1403 Wayne Memorial Drive and brandished a knife. Police say no one was hurt.

Barnes was arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop. He was taken to the Wayne County Jail where bond was set at $775,000 for Family Dollar incident. He is awaiting extradition on the Greenville charge.

LaGrange Man Jailed In Money Theft Case

A LaGrange man accused of stealing money from a fellow employee is now in custody of Wayne County authorities.

Tyran Anthony Hart, 27, who lives in the 2500 corridor of New Hope Road is charged with felony Larceny from Person.

Investigators say an employee told them that while he was working at Case Farms on Pecan Road the suspect stole about $3,500 from him.

After the investigation Hart was charged in the case.

He was taken the Wayne County Jail where bond was set at $7,000.

Accused Heroin Dealers Arrested

Two accused heroin dealers are now in custody of Wayne County authorities.

Dylan Christopher Sugg, 21, and Joshua Phillips, 25, both of Becton Circle, Goldsboro are charged with one count each of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Drug agents with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department Drug Unit say they were contacted by the North Carolina Department of Probation and Parole to assist with the search of two offenders. That search yielded heroin and related packaging materials.

Suggs was taken to the Wayne County Detention Center where bond was set at $3,000.

Son Charged In Beating Death Of 79-Year-Old Mother

Authorities in North Carolina say a man has been arrested and charged with murder in the beating death of his 79-year-old mother.

Iredell County deputies told news outlets that 55-year-old Michael Frye was taken into custody early Tuesday morning.

Deputies say Barbara Frye died Monday a few hours after she was found beaten in her Mooresville home.

Family members say she was frail and was battling cancer.

Deputies did not give a motive for the killing. It wasn’t known if Frye has a lawyer.

Wayne Authorities: Accused Killer Also A Suspected “Meth” Dealer

There is new evidence today suggesting the accused killer in the fatal shooting of a Wayne County man is also a suspected illegal-drug dealer.

Earlier this week, Matthew Craig Moyers, 24, of Southwinds Drive, Dudley was charged with murder in the shooting death of 25-year-old Joshua Forbes Saturday morning. Now, Moyers has also been charged with one count each of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, a Schedule IV Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia.

During a search of Moyer’s vehicle authorities found 26 grams of Methamphetamine, 12 dosage units of Schedule IV prescription medication, 2 dosage units of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Secured bond for Moyers on the illegal-drug related charges was set at $7,500.

Healthcare Worker Accused Of Stealing

It appears a Goldsboro woman who is a healthcare worker allegedly has a problem of stealing from the people she takes care of.

Kimberly Ann Anys, 46, of Cambria Lane, is charged with Felony Larceny and Possession of Stolen Goods.

Investigators with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office say the victim who lives in the southwestern part of the county reported the theft of about $5,300 worth of property noting a healthcare worker was the only person who had been in the residence.

Authorities say their investigation revealed Anys was involved. According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Anys was also charged with the same crime involving another elderly person last year while serving as a healthcare worker.

An accused thief police believe is the culprit in a number of felony and misdemeanor larceny cases in Goldsboro is now in custody.

Alfred Maurice Hill, 43, of Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, faces various theft related charges including Possession of Stolen Goods and Obtaining Property by False Pretense.

Hill was taken to the Wayne County Jail where secured bond was set at $20,000.

Law enforcement officials say they were investigating three separate incidents where a leaf blower, weed eater and bike were stolen. Property damage was also reportedly involved. Police say that during their investigation a suspect was formed and subsequently charged.

An accused shoplifter is in custody of local authorities after Goldsboro Police arrested him in connection with a theft at a retail store.

Dennis Laron Lofton, 49, of O’Berry Road, Dudley was taken to the Wayne County Jail after officers arrived at Walgreen’s to investigate the theft report. Police were told the suspect concealed about $120 worth of items and left the business without paying.

The Goldsboro Police Department’s investigation of a theft case at Belk’s appears to be over after the arrest of a suspect.

Warrants were issued against Ebony Marie Jackson, 39, of South John Street for Larceny, Communicating Threats and Obtaining Property by False Pretense. Jackson also had an outstanding warrant related to Child Support.

Police received a report someone stole just shy of $400 worth of clothing from the store noting the merchandise was concealed inside a bag when the culprit left without paying for it.

Financial Crimes Suspect Sought By GPD

A Goldsboro man accused of using a stolen financial card to pay for medical treatment and a retail purchase is now wanted by police.

David Rahnik Holloman, 31, of Hooks River Road, is wanted for Felony Identity Theft and Financial Card Fraud. Investigators say the card belongs to a victim in Johnston County. Holloman allegedly used it at MedStat and WalMart.

Holloman who goes by the name of “Rock” has brown eyes. He is about 5’11”, and weighs around 200 pounds. The suspect has tattoos on his left shoulder, left arm, right arm and right forearm.

Police say never attempt to apprehend a fugitive yourself. If you know where Holloman is please call the Goldsboro Police Department, Goldsboro-Wayne Crime Stoppers or 9-1-1.
