Residential Break-In: Property Stolen, Dog Killed, Teen Arrested

A Goldsboro teenager accused of breaking into a local residence, stealing the owner’s property and killing her dog is in custody of local authorities.

Jalen Devon Taylor, 16, who lives in an apartment in the 3200 block of Cashwell Drive is charged with Breaking and Entering, two larceny related charges, Possession of a Stolen Firearm and Cruelty to Animals.

The victim told investigators that while she was away from her home someone broke into her house and stole several guns and electronic equipment. She also said her dog “Lyndi” was shot and killed inside the house. Police say the crimes happened at a house in the 100 block of Jessica Place.

Taylor was identified as the suspect. He was arrested and taken to the Wayne County Jail where secured bond was set at $10,000.
